Tasting: Catena Malbec

Catena
High Vines Malbec
Mendoza
Argentina
2014
$21.95

Winery Review: The peachy 2014 Catena Malbec is juicy and with good ripeness, a soft style round, sweet tannins and some toasty notes with sweet spices. Somehow this is more approachable and drinkable that 2015 at the moment. This is a very Complex blend of many vineyards, points of harvests and different vinifications and aging to create an impressive quality level wine.

My Review: I did not like this wine, kinda at all. I think that there was a battle going on between the flavors that resulted in a rotten bouquet of flowers and chocolates. The wine had a medium acidity which I enjoyed, but all in all, this was not my favorite Malbec that I have tasted.

I tasted this wine on its own.
